Father Moose
gathered blueberries, goji berries and pollen from bees'
colonies, then peeled birch bark, in sheets, off fallen trees.
Home with fold, he told the foals, "In these three bowls,
red, yellow and blue:
The primary colors.
They combine to
create all the others!"
Nestled into place, pestled into paste.
Added water. Painted faces. Tasted!
Father phrased,
"Blue and yellow make green.
Blue and red make purple.
Red and yellow make orange.
Color wheel's a circle."
Crafted brushes from bamboos and mane hairs.
After, Father Moose inhaled, shared,
"A circle, flat, is a sphere, solid.
Triangle transforms to pyramid.
Six squares fix their sides to cube.
Rectangle wraps round two circle caps, a tube.
Tubes, hollow cylinders, fill in your body regions.
Cubes cross with pyramids to form polyhedrons.
Pyramid crossed with sphere's a cone.
The only thing we have to fear is fear alone."
Calves painted hooves to make stamps
and snoozed on laps of Great Gramps.
